This story took place in the Argentine city of Rivadavia. An elderly couple found a homeless pregnant dog on the street.
She was hungry and weak. The couple started taking care of her, and when it was time to give birth, they helped her and her newborn puppies.
After the puppies grew up, the couple found a new home for them. Despite the fact that the couple really loved the dog, they felt that they were not able to take care of it because of their age. They found a new owner for the pet from a neighboring town.
Everything went well, but two weeks later the new owner called and said that the dog had run away from home. He looked for her everywhere, but did not find her. Days and weeks passed, but the dog did not return.
The owner lost hope of finding a pet, when one fine day the dog appeared at the front door of the elderly couple who had once helped her in a difficult moment. It turned out that she was looking for them all along!
She walked 161 kilometers and lost a lot of weight and was covered with mud and sores.
The dog drank a whole bucket of water and then slept all day. The astonished couple called the man and said that the dog had returned.
