The president of the hunting association “Pheasant” from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Brane Pavlović, says he will ask the relevant ministry for a special permit to shoot the deer.
Inhabitants of Grabovac municipality in Bosnia and Herzegovina have been struggling with a rabid deer attacking people for the past fifteen days, and Goran Oroz was the worst hit.
Oroz says that on April 15 he was returning from the store in Bojići and noticed that someone was following him. He adds that he was surprised when he turned around and saw a deer.
“He immediately stabbed me in the left leg. When I fell, he hit me two more times , turned to the left and I moaned and called for help. Fortunately, a neighbor heard me and drove me to the first hospital where my wound was stitched up with eight stitches.
“First I approached the hunting association ‘Pheasant’ from Celinac and they sent me to the municipality. When I got to the municipality, they told me that they were only responsible for agriculture. I don’t know who to turn to anymore because I have never heard of such a case, let alone experienced it “, said Oroz.
In addition to Goran Oroz, the deer attacked Radovan Vucic’s apartment, and also the locals of MZ Grabovac, Tamara Radujković and Dobrila Danojević, as well as an experienced hunter Radenko Momić who had an unusual encounter with him.
“I was working a bit on the side of the road when a deer appeared. It’s hard to surprise me in the forest, but when I saw him, I stopped, transfixed. I could tell he wasn’t scared, so I took out the phone and took his picture. He jumped a little near me and ran away.
“This is not something you hear every day, that a deer, attacks people.
The secretary of the hunting association, Zivojin Lazic, said that it is very likely that the deer grew up among people, but after a while it migrated back to the forest.
