A farmer found newborn “puppies” in a field: After a while it turned out that they were not dogs

City dwellers sincerely believe that country people know all kinds of animals. But if a farmer works all day in the field without turning to the forest, where can he get such knowledge? The example of Shimoda, a Chinese man, proves it.

The man sowed a few hectares of land only recently and then went to rest. He needed time until the first shoots appeared, and then he was ready to weed and water. But a mysterious trace in the greenery was discovered.

The old man, who had been hunting in his youth, quickly realized that it was the track of a wild animal. He immediately decided to check it out and found…. something. The newborn lumps had not yet opened their eyes, and it was impossible to tell species identity from their appearance.

Shimoda thought they might be puppies that would become guard dogs. He decided to take the babies and set up a nest of hay for the ones he found.

Within a week, the muzzles of the animals had finally formed. To the farmer’s surprise, they weren’t dogs at all: they were real rabbits, cute and fluffy.

Rabbits had not been seen in this area for a long time: too many hunters. And so, gradually, nature began to recover and gave the old man charming pets.
