An unexpected guest recently entered one of the veterinary clinics in Brazil. Cameras filmed as a stray dog appeared at the clinic’s front door. Limping and lowering its head, the dog asked people to help it.
This story was shared by staff at a veterinary clinic in Brazil. In the middle of the work day, a lame stray dog entered the clinic. He lowered his head, walked humbly and asked people to help him. When a nurse saw him, she immediately approached him.
The dog proved to be very trusting and friendly, wagging its tail and “giving” its paw to the woman. It had an ingrown claw on its paw that was causing great pain. The staff decided to help the dog, treat its paw and check its health.
Tests revealed a tumor in the dog’s genitals. For treatment, he had to undergo chemotherapy, which the clinic staff organized at their own expense. During the treatment, one of the veterinarians adopted the dog.
At the moment, the dog is undergoing chemotherapy and it is already showing results, “He already has no signs of pain or bleeding and he tolerated the first chemotherapy well. We will monitor his condition to see how many chemotherapy treatments he will need,” says veterinarian Deis Silva.
During the dog’s treatment, all of Brazil and other countries learned about his story. The clinic has received hundreds of offers to adopt this dog – many want to pick him up when he is cured.
