White swan has been friends with a man for 37 years and thanks him for saving her

Recep Mirzan from Turkey is 63 years old. It looks like an ordinary man, but with him is connected a completely extraordinary story.

For 37 years he has been friends with the swan he rescued. It all happened in Edirne province, where the man was traveling with his friends.

Recep found the wounded bird and left it in his car overnight to protect it from predators. The man took the bird to a farm in Karaagach and cared for the swan himself.

She recovered and spent all the time next to her rescuer. She followed Recep everywhere and went out with him in the evenings. It was obvious that it would not be possible to return the swan to the wild.

Then the bird got the name Garip, which is translated from Turkish as “strange”. Garip’s behavior cannot be called ordinary. Swans usually avoid people, but this bird is an exception.

Surprisingly, the swan made friends with other animals from the farm. She made friends with dogs and cats and became a full-fledged member of the family. In the wild, Garip would have lived little more than 12 years, but this year she turned 37.
