Earlier this year, a truly heartbreaking story occurred in the Turkish province of Ordu. The explosion at 83-year-old Ali Meshe’s home resulted in a fire that left only ruins of his home.
Yet, in the midst of this tragedy, Ali’s beloved pet was able to crawl out from under the burning rubble of the house … his cat, nicknamed Blond.
Ali Meshe decided to light the stove with gasoline. Unfortunately, something went wrong and there was an explosion in the living room, which caused the whole house to burn down. For an elderly man, it was a real tragedy that could easily cost him his life.
Ali was lucky. He managed to get out of the burning house, but as a result of this fire he lost all his property. 13 out of 14 chickens died in the fire, and the house turned into a pile of smoldering coals.
The 83-year-old man escaped with minor burns. He was then quickly released from the hospital. Ali, however, was greatly relieved when he thought he had lost everything and saw his cat crawling to him under the burning rubble.
Firefighters helped rescue his beloved pet – the only thing left – after which he hugged the cat, not hiding his tears. This is truly an incredibly moving photo that flew across the Internet with tremendous speed.
After the story was published, American talk show host Ellen Degeneres shared the following video on her Instagram page. Ali quickly became a worldwide sensation and gained international sympathy.
A wave of sympathy soon reached the Turkish authorities, who could not remain indifferent to the further fate of Ali Mesh.
They agreed to build a new house for the 83-year-old man, and during the construction Ali will live with his daughter.
Moreover, in an interview with Daily Sabah, Turkish Minister of Family and Social Affairs Fatma Betul Sayyan Kaya said that her goal is to launch a campaign to help Ali Meshe, thanks to which his life will become as it was before the tragedy.
They must admit that it is wonderful that people from all over the world expressed their support and were ready to provide the necessary assistance when a real disaster occurred in the life of this elderly man. In addition, everyone is very happy that his cat was able to survive the fire!
