Pug Shorty is over 15 years old. Eleven of them he lives with Mark and his wife Kristen. Mark took a very young dog from the shelter where he worked at the time.
Mark and his pet were inseparable all these years – the owner even took the dog with him on business trips. Despite the fact that the dog was never left completely alone, the dog felt very bad during the separation from the owner.
“When Mark was not at home, Shorty was very anxious. He barked and howled all the time, and we couldn’t calm him down. I would take him in my arms, but it didn’t help,” Kristen says.
Anxiety attacks were having a negative impact on the dog’s health. When Kristen’s mother saw this, she offered the couple an unusual idea – to buy a mannequin to replace Mark during his business trips.
Kristen didn’t think it would help, but decided to give it a try. She dressed the mannequin in Mark’s clothes and even got tattoo sleeves so that the mannequin looked exactly like Mark.
Shorty’s new friend was named Fark. Kristen put Fark on the sofa and brought him an excited dog. To everyone’s surprise, Shorty calmed down immediately, lay down next to the mannequin and fell asleep.
Kristen believed that the mannequin would be enough only for a funny photo. But it turned out that he became a real cure for severe anxiety for the exhausted dog.
