Replacement daddy: a Belgian shepherd dog cared for an orphaned baby giraffe

In the wilderness, where the principle of “survival of the fittest” prevails, anything is possible. A mother has left her unborn child to the mercy of fate. It happens, unfortunately.

Little Jazz had been living on the African savannah for three days when he was accidentally found by a local farmer.

The man was not indifferent. He called the local animal welfare organization, The Rhio Orphanage, and a team of trained specialists arrived on the scene. The baby was extremely weak and dehydrated.

The baby had already arrived at the center in a state of coma. After several emergency procedures and a long 18 hours, Jazz slowly began to recover. With the help of all preventive measures, he is already walking and trying to stand up.

From the first minute Jazz was under the close protection and care of Hunter, the Belgian Malinois. What kind of bond was formed between the faithful dog and the baby giraffe, the specialists can not yet guess. But the fact was that when Jazz was in a coma, Hunter refused to eat. He ate when he saw his ward on the road to recovery.

The two spent a lot of time together. The dog and the baby giraffe touched, played, licked each other lovingly!

Unfortunately, the happiness was short-lived. Jazz was not able to defend himself. A few days later he left this world. And all this time Hunter was with him all the time.

This story is a year and a half old. Hunter is alive and well and still performing his difficult service.
