The dog escape from the dog butcher. And hide himself in drainage ditch for two weeks

Eating dog meat? That is unimaginable for many people, even though in some places in Germany it was still common in the 20th century. In some countries like Indonesia, eating dog meat is even common today. Unfortunately, some people there try to profit from it by running illegal “dog farms”. For cheaply produced meat, people there accept animal cruelty, as the following harrowing story of a brave dog shows.

Warning: the following images may be disturbing to some readers.

Little mongrel Mo was about to die when he was discovered in a dirty ditch. The poor animal’s discoverers immediately notified a local animal welfare organization dedicated to rescuing and adopting stray animals on the Indonesian island of Bali.

When their members heard of Mo’s fate, they drove as quickly as possible to where she was found. The sight was horrific: duct tape was wrapped around the dog’s muzzle and her hind legs were tied with shoelaces. The poor dog seemed to consist only of skin and bones. She was also suffering great pain. Nevertheless, despite her terrible condition, Mo had probably even been lucky.

Apparently, she had fallen off the wagon of a dog meat dealer and then rolled into the ditch. In a bound state, she apparently spent two agonizing weeks there until her discovery. So there was no time to lose in saving her life.

The helpers of the animal welfare organization immediately took the dog to the veterinarian. Carefully, the tape was removed from her muzzle. It turned out that it had cut off the blood flow between her upper jaw and nose, causing the flesh to die in the affected areas.

Because of her dire condition, it was even feared that she would not survive the next operations. Nevertheless, it had to be tried. In a difficult procedure, her muzzle was reconstructed using skin grafts and surgical sutures. Mo was a real fighter during the whole procedure. After the anesthesia, she woke up without any problems and immediately wagged her tail joyfully.

Despite her terrible experience, the dog blossomed and quickly showed her engaging personality. As a result, she easily made friends with the helpers and other animals at the shelter – amazing considering what Mo had been through! After she recovered from surgery and gained some weight, the time was right for a new home.

It didn’t take long for this fun-loving dog to be adopted. Just a few months after her rescue, Mo was able to welcome not only two new favorite people into her life, but also the other dogs of the couple who adopted her. The scar on her muzzle healed well and Mo couldn’t be happier, as you can see on her Instagram account “littlemissmo_bali”. She seems to be feeling great!

How nice that the brave dog is living a peaceful and happy life from now on. She really deserves it. Following are links to more moving articles and galleries:
