This story happened in 2015 in the Argentine city of Rivadavia. An elderly couple found a pregnant stray dog on the street. She was hungry and visibly embarrassed. The couple took pity on the animals and began to take care of them. When the time of birth came, they helped her and then the newborn puppies.
After the babies were a little older and could be weaned, nice people found them a new home. Although the couple loved their dog very much, they could not take him with them because they could not keep him because of his age. They found a new owner for Negrita, an old friend from the neighboring town of Hachala, and brought her to themselves.
Everything went well, but two weeks later the new owner called Negrita and said the dog had run away from home. Days and weeks passed, but Negrita did not return.
The owner had already lost hope of finding the animal when one day Negrita suddenly appeared on the doorstep of an elderly couple who helped her in her need. Turns out she was looking for them the whole time!
The dog traveled 161 kilometers to reach from Hachal to Rivadavia. The long journey took away her strength: Negrita lost a lot of weight and was covered in mud and wounds.
When he returned home, the dog drank a bucket of water and slept for 24 hours.
The amazed couple called a friend and told him that Negrita was back. The man offered to pick her up, but this time the couple decided not to part with the dog – after all, how can anyone betray such loyalty!
