The German Shepherd immediately proved his professionalism – he found a family that could not be found for several days.
Max, a two-year-old police dog, got his first assignment. Together with his trainer Peter Lloyd, the German Shepherd was sent to search for a mother and her one-year-old child who had disappeared in Wales.
A police helicopter and a rescue team, including Peter and Max, were deployed. A few hours later, the dog finally picked up the trail in the hilly terrain of Powys County and led the men to the mother and baby. The woman had fallen into a sharp hole and was unable to extricate herself.
“We really benefited from Max’s search skills,” says Inspector Jonathan Rees-Jones. – Even though he only recently got his license, he immediately showed excellent results searching the open area.”
