Resourceful dog rides bus three stops alone to walk in his favorite park

In Seattle, many people know Eclipse, a Labrador-Mastiff mix. The dog rides public transportation alone to a stop near the park.

“All the bus drivers know him. He sits just like a human,” says driver Tiona Reinpowter.

The dog made his first independent flight by accident. Eclipse was sitting at the bus stop with his owner, Jeff Yang, waiting for the bus. Jeff was taking a drag on a cigarette and didn’t have time to finish it when the bus came.

The dog didn’t wait for his owner, jumped on the transport and drove away. Then he got off at the right stop and went for a walk in the park. At that moment, Jeff realized that the pet did not need to be accompanied by him.

In Seattle, dogs are allowed on public transportation. Although some commuters state that the dog must be on a leash, this is entirely at the discretion of the driver. Since Eclipse is well behaved and does not bother anyone, drivers are happy to take him.

Eclipse gets on the bus and is told to take a seat. Three stops later, he gets off and goes for a walk in the park.

“It makes everybody happy. How can you not love a miracle like that?” riders say.
