One day, a call rang out at the Anderson Stray Animal Shelter. The veterinarians were told that a female dog had been lying in a ravine by a local creek for days.

An employee of the shelter, Michelle Smith, went to the address mentioned. The picture she saw there was shocking. At the very bottom of the ravine was a female shih tzu feeding and caring for an abandoned kitten. According to Michelle, the dog had been taking care of the baby the entire time.
The animals were taken to the shelter, where the dog never stopped caring for her charge.
